ANY MOTION IS ANIMATION
I’m a 2D animator at heart, but I like to bend the medium.
I’m interested in whatever technique best serves the idea.

I see music as a pure narrative tool. If a movie is a planet, the music is its moon.

Hadi Iraqi is a Moroccan-Canadian filmmaker, animator, and composer based in Montreal. Inspired by the ways people think, dream, and construct their inner worlds, he creates films that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination, combining music, humor, and expressive mise-en-scène to explore the human condition with sensitivity and playfulness. He began working in animation at a young age through his YouTube channel, (By Hadi) . Early on, he saw image and movement as a narrative language in their own right. At 17, he directed Le Personnage Principal (2023), a 50-minute medium-length film that he wrote, edited, and scored. The film was screened in Casablanca for an audience of more than 600, marking a defining step in his artistic journey. He later joined Montreal’s artistic community through the Film Production program at the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema, a city that has deeply influenced his practice. Alongside his studies, he directed several short films that further developed his creative voice, including Finding Harmony (2023, Best Film – Toronto Teen Film Festival), Tatata-Ta! (2024, Official Selection – Court d’un Soir and Festival Émergence), and Merci Charlotte! (2025, Official Selection – Fantasia Film Festival). His recent films, La Voix de Lily and Domino Plays, are currently entering distribution.
